Joe Biden Selects Abortion Activists to Lead His Team Vetting Potential Running Mates
Joe Biden has enlisted pro-abortion politicians to help him select a vice presidential running mate for his campaign against President Donald Trump.
On Thursday, Biden’s campaign announced his choices for the vetting panel, including former U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd of Connecticut and U.S. Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester of Delaware, the AP reports. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Cynthia Hogan, a Biden aide and former Obama administration advisor, also will help select his running mate.
Biden is presumed to be the Democratic presidential nominee because all other major contenders dropped out of the race. In recent months, he has aligned himself closely with the party’s radical pro-abortion agenda and the billion-dollar abortion industry, promising to “codify” Roe v. Wade and force taxpayers to pay for elective abortions.
The panel tasked with choosing his running mate shares his views. Rochester has a 100-percent pro-abortion voting record from the National Right to Life Committee. Most recently, she voted against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, legislation that would ensure viable babies who survive abortions receive basic medical care.
Dodd, who left office after facing criticism for his involvement in a corporate bailout, also consistently voted against pro-life legislation. He voted against a partial-birth abortion ban and voted in favor of using taxpayer funds to pay for abortions.
Garcetti, as mayor of Los Angeles, is less directly involved in abortion politics, but he recently faced criticism for allowing abortion facilities to keep killing unborn babies in elective abortions while restricting many other activities during the coronavirus crisis.
According to the AP, these individuals will work with former White House counsel Bob Bauer, campaign general counsel Dana Remus and former homeland security adviser Lisa Monaco to help Biden choose a running mate.

Fox News reports Biden is believed to be considering U.S. Sens. Kamala Harris of California, Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, and former Georgia state lawmaker Stacey Abrams. There is speculation about Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama being considered, too.
Biden promised that he will pick a woman for the position, and all of the likely contenders support abortion on demand.
“I’ll commit to that [it will] be a woman because it is very important that my administration look like the public, look like the nation,” he said earlier this month. “And there will be, committed that there will be a woman of color on the Supreme Court, that doesn’t mean there won’t be a vice president, as well.”
Last week, he told KDKA in Pittsburgh that he would “take” Michelle Obama “in a heartbeat” if she would be willing to accept the position. However, he said he doubts the former first lady, who also supports abortion on demand, would accept it.
“She’s brilliant. She knows the way around. She is a really fine woman. The Obamas are great friends,” Biden said.
“I think it’s really important now that we establish once and for all, we should have had a woman president already, in Hillary [Clinton],” Biden told the radio station. “There are a number of qualified women out there.”
Though he once was more moderate, Biden’s stance on abortion has shifted far left in recent years. Last year, he gave up his long-held position supporting the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits taxpayer-funded abortions through Medicare.
The Democrat presidential candidate now supports forcing taxpayers to pay for elective abortions. In late February at a town hall in South Carolina, Biden promised that one of his first acts as president would be to restore funding to Planned Parenthood, the billion-dollar abortion chain.
Biden recently said he would be committed to “the constitutional right to an abortion” and “reverse the Trump administration and states’ all-out assault on women’s right to choose.” He also promised to “work to codify Roe v. Wade.” The infamous U.S. Supreme Court decision made the United States one of only seven countries in the world that allows elective abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.
His health care plan would expand abortions as well. It would force insurance companies to cover abortions as “essential” health care under Obamacare.
What’s more, pro-abortion movement leaders say they “trust” Biden to protect abortion on demand.
From 2001 to 2008, Biden’s voting record on pro-life issues was close to zero, according to the National Right to Life Committee. In 2005, for example, he voted against the Mexico City Policy, which prohibits funding to overseas groups that promote and/or perform abortions. He also voted repeatedly to require that military service members’ abortions be covered by taxpayer dollars.
