Generosity During COVID-19

How do we care for the most vulnerable during COVID-19? A couple weeks back, some friends and I were walking down the streets of Manhattan back to our cozy, heated hotel room. We’d just wrapped up an outdoor meal at a nearby restaurant but decided we needed a sweet treat to top it off; ice cream cones in hand, we made our way back to SOHO. But on the way there, a voice was calling out from the side of the road—it was a woman. She was homeless. She asked my friends and I if we had some money to s Go to the article

Temptation Is No Simple Enemy

Temptation often prevails against us because of our simple and naive assumptions about temptation. We expect temptation will march through the front door, dressed like a wolf, announcing itself loudly as it comes. But temptation often prefers the back door, and the bedroom window, and that crack between the floorboards. Temptation relies on subtlety and nuance, on deception and surprise, on ignorance and naivete. To begin to taste victory, we have to start treating the war like a war. We ha Go to the article

Lots to think about: Weiss and Sullivan on rise of illiberalism in news media and America

If you were going to nominate the public-square “think piece” of the month, it would have to be the latest salvo from former New York Times scribe Bari Weiss. God's Mission Through Jesus' People

Can you think of a more noble vision or a more compelling mission for us, the Lord's people, than to be Jesus' bodily presence to our fractured and fragmented world?
