President Trump Refuses to Sign Democrat Spending Bill That Forces Americans to Fund Abortion

How much damage can House Democrats do in 1,165 pages? A lot. And Thursday’s massive appropriations package was the latest — and most expensive — example. If you want a transgender-identifying military, legalized marijuana, taxpayer-funded abortion, medical coercion, genderless shelters, and zero privacy protections, you’ve got H.R. 7617. And no chance, the president says, of passing it. Just the name of the bill is enough to give everyone a headache: the Defense, Commerce, Justice, Scie Go to the article

To the Least of These, Like Jesus

Largely, in the days when Jesus came, children were only valued if they were wanted. I wonder what history will say in the future about us? Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14). In Jesus' day, children were powerless. They were sometimes resources utilized to provide for the family. Many of these children were loved by their parents. Far too often, however, many were not. In the days when Je Go to the article

Mexico Supreme Court Rejects Attempt to Legalize Killing Babies in Abortions

Pro-lifers in Mexico had steeled themselves for the worst.  There seemed to be enough votes on Mexico’s Supreme Court to change the penal code to decriminalize abortion in the state of Veracruz. The fear was if the Court agreed, it could lead to widespread abortion “liberalization” in Mexico. However, according to El Financiero, four of the five justices “voted against the bill” to change the penal code of Veracruz, a state bordering the Gulf of Mexico. Faithfulness in Forgotten Places: Why Small Obedience Matters to God

When the Holy Spirit cultivates his fruit in our lives, he often works in ways we would never pray for (Galatians 5:22–23). To grow the fruit of love in us, he may give us an enemy; to grow the fruit of peace, he may allow conflict to come near. And to grow the fruit of faithfulness, he may send us to forgotten places. Living in the Past is Killing Your Future

One of our biggest spiritual problems is this: we want God to do something new while we keep doing the same old thing. We want God to change our circumstances without us having to change at all. We’re asking God for new wine, but we’ve still got an old wineskin. We get stuck, and sometimes mad at God, because we keep doing the same thing while expecting different results! Why do some Christians say “all sins are equally bad” and “everyone is equally guilty”?

Young women very supportive of premarital sexWe were having a discussion about whether the Bible teaches that sex before marriage is morally wrong, and someone said “impure thoughts counts as adultery… there isn’t a virgin among us”. Regarding her point that lust is equal to adultery, and so no one is really a virgin, here’s Ligonier Ministries: In demonstrating that the seventh commandment was given also to prohibit lust, Jesus is not somehow saying that an unconsummated lustful inten Go to the article

Financial Checks and Balances: 2 Security Lessons I Learned The Hard Way

I don’t want to minister in a church in which people don’t trust each other. And I refuse to work with leaders I can’t trust. But trusting each other doesn’t mean we shouldn’t put proper financial checks and balances in place. Joe Biden Wants to Establish an “Absolute” Right to Kill Babies in Abortions

It is often said that no right is absolute. The First Amendment’s rights to freedom of speech, religion, and assembly can be restrained in some circumstances. The Second Amendment doesn’t guarantee the right to own a machine gun. But if the Democrats take control of the government in November, abortion will soon be legally guaranteed to any woman, at any time, for any reason. Here’s the problem as abortion rights believers see it. Roe v Wade—the 1973 ruling that made abortion a constitut Go to the article

Militiamen Killed a UN Peacekeeper in Central African Republic

07/14/2020 Central African Republic (International Christian Concern) – On Monday, July 13th, the armed militiamen killed a Rwandan United Nations (U.N.) peacekeeper, injuring two others in the northwest part of the Central African Republic. The U.N. stated that  “the attack in the Nana-Mambéré prefecture, was allegedly carried out by the Return, Reclamation, and Rehabilitation (3R) armed group.” The Central African Republic has been rocked by violence since 2013 when mainly Muslim Séléka rebels ousted then-President Francois Bozizé, prompting reprisals from mostly Christian militias. The violence has led to hundreds of deaths and almost 700,000 internally displaced people (IDPs). It has also pushed more than 500,000 people to seek refuge in neighboring countries such as Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and Chad. A year later, in 2014, the U.N. deployed peacekeepers. Violence waned after a peace accord was signed in February 2019 between the government and 14 armed grou

Lessons I Learned While Trying to Save the World

I am a chronic idealist. Our culture’s messages of “save the world,” “lean in” and “YOLO” (You Only Live Once) are metaphorically tattooed on my heart, fueling a million and a half dreams I have to help change the world for the better. As a twentysomething right out of college, I packed those dreams with me as I traveled through Africa to launch a nonprofit focused on the HIV/AIDS and water crises. But it didn’t take long before I was blindsided by the painful truths about how ha Go to the article

The State of Nature

Here’s an excerpt from The State of Nature, William VanDoodewaard's contribution to the July issue of Tabletalk: Life in Eden was marvelous. Our first parents experienced complete vitality in the best of a pristine, beautiful creation. It was a world without suffering or death. Everything was very good, and at the center of it all, Adam and Eve enjoyed perfect fellowship with God and with each other in their state of innocence. After the joy of Eve’s marriage to Adam in Genesis 2, the serpen Go to the article
